Spend a day at Bear Lake Resort on October 18 listening to some great Bluegrass music and help the Manawa FFA Alumni raise funds to support agricultural education and the local FFA. We start at 2:00 with the exciting group from the Oshkosh area, Dead Horses with their original "Folkgrass" music. Next at about 4:30 we'll have a classic bluegrass band for the Fox Valley, Goodtime Specials, playing music for us. At 7:00 it will be Dale Reichert and The Resonators giving us bluegrass with a twist featuring classic bluegrass plus some 30's & 40's type swing and blues music as this group also features a sax/clarinet player. Bringing us to a high energy finish is the ever popular group from Stevens Point, Horseshoes
& Hand Grenades at 9:30. Food and beverage will be available along with camping at Bear Lake Campground & Resort. The day will include raffles and silent auction items.

Looking for Washington DC Trip Sponsorship
The 7th and 8th grade students in Manawa are going to Washington D.C. this May for an educational based field trip. Here is where we need your help. We would like to give the 7th grader and 8th grader who improves the most on their state testing from last year to this year, a free trip. In order to do this, we would need to raise about $900 per trip. I am looking for people or businesses that would be willing to donate money in order to provide these two free trips. We believe this would be a great incentive to try and get students to work their hardest on their state tests. Improved tests scores will help improve our school report card. If you would like to donate money or have any questions, please contact Jeff Bortle via email at firstname.lastname@example.org, message him on facebook, or call him at the Manawa School District.
