Are your jeans a little too snug or too spacious lately? Feeling like you have high waters or are sick of their wash? Consider donating unwanted pairs to the "jeans drive" my leadership class is conducting from now until January 8th.
According to dosomething.org, over a million young people experience homelessness in the U.S. every year. The one item they most often request is a pair of jeans. You can help those in need while also helping clean out your closet. Maybe Santa will even bring you replacement jeans!
Jeans should be washed and in good condition. They can be any brand, so check your closet for any jeans you no longer wear that could be donated. Please send to room 321 at the high school.
Looking for Washington DC Trip Sponsorship
The 7th and 8th grade students in Manawa are going to Washington D.C. this May for an educational based field trip. Here is where we need your help. We would like to give the 7th grader and 8th grader who improves the most on their state testing from last year to this year, a free trip. In order to do this, we would need to raise about $900 per trip. I am looking for people or businesses that would be willing to donate money in order to provide these two free trips. We believe this would be a great incentive to try and get students to work their hardest on their state tests. Improved tests scores will help improve our school report card. If you would like to donate money or have any questions, please contact Jeff Bortle via email at firstname.lastname@example.org, message him on facebook, or call him at the Manawa School District.
